Last Minute Gift Ideas

Give the gift of software freedom!

Stuck for a Christmas gift for someone you love? Why not give them the gift of software freedom? Go grab a CD image of some great open source software - like LibreOffice or Ubuntu for example - then burn it to a CDR and decorate the CDR suitably. Because open source software comes with the freedom to distribute it to anyone you wish, you are perfectly free to engage in craft work with any open source licensed software you wish and make a delightful, personal gift.

If you want to print a label for the CD or make a CD sleeve, you could use Eliane Domingo's fine Christmas tree image, which she has licensed under a Creative Commons license so you can use it for your own purposes.

Then help your friend install the software, and while you're there get rid of that old copy of IE6 they have installed and replace it with a modern web browser! But whatever you do, have a great Christmas!
