IT in the service of crime (prevention)

I had an early meeting in my office with a number of ICT colleagues to develop our proposals for working with the Council's Crime and Anti Social Behaviour service, in response to the recent workshop held with its management team.
We agreed a number of short term actions to improve the use and effectiveness of the ICT system used in their service, and to address data quality issues and, in the longer term, to work with business improvement colleagues on business process review.
I attended a Resources Board meeting at the Old Town Hall, Stratford, which was mainly concerned with supporting the development of service plans for 2008/9, but had to leave early for the first ICT Savings (Star Chamber) Review, at East Ham Town Hall, with the consultant who has been retained to help services deliver their savings commitments!
